Ottawa Electric completed the full residential electrical work for a luxury custom home in Rockcliffe, Ottawa.
This was a full custom new build from the ground up, with electrical work completed throughout the entire home. The project included a new 400A service, underground service, main panels, sub-panels, panel labelling, a generator panel, automatic transfer switch, Hydro Ottawa coordination, and a backup generator designed for full-home backup.
The custom lighting scope included 200 trimless recessed lights, lighting zones, dimming, smart switches, scene controls, exterior lighting, accent lighting, and low-voltage lighting control wiring throughout the home. Ottawa Electric also completed dedicated wiring for a wine cooler, home theater, and hot tub.
This luxury Rockcliffe custom home needed a complete electrical system that could support high-end finishes, heavy electrical demand, backup power, and specialty lifestyle features.
The home required a 400A service, full-home generator backup, smart lighting controls, 200 trimless recessed lights, and custom wiring for a wine cooler, home theater, and hot tub.
Because this was a luxury build, the work needed to be clean, precise, and coordinated carefully with the client, designers, and other trades. Trimless recessed lighting also required accurate placement so the finished ceilings would look clean and intentional.
Ottawa Electric installed the new 400A electrical service, including the meter base, main panels, sub-panels, underground service, generator panel, automatic transfer switch, and panel labelling.
The team coordinated with Hydro Ottawa as part of the service setup and completed the required ESA permits and inspections.
For backup power, Ottawa Electric integrated a full-home generator installation with an automatic transfer switch. This setup was designed to provide reliable backup power for the home when needed.
The custom lighting scope included 200 trimless recessed lights installed throughout the home. Ottawa Electric also installed smart switches, dimming, lighting zones, scene controls, exterior lighting, accent lighting, and low-voltage wiring throughout for lighting control.
The specialty wiring scope included dedicated circuits for the wine cooler, home theater, and hot tub. The hot tub wiring included GFCI protection and inspection-ready installation.
